Hello
Talking about mental health, or certain thoughts and emotions can be hard. It takes bravery and vulnerability to share some things with others. Kari believes that we heal through connection with others, however in order to connect with others we must feel safe to do so. She strives to give her clients an empathetic, non-judgmental space to connect and feel safe sharing in order to work toward healing together.
About Me
Kari is a Registered Nurse and is completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Athabasca University. She has worked as a registered nurse for the last 17 years. Although this work was mainly with people facing physical challenges, she discovered that most people benefitted greatly from a listening ear. She noticed that despite medical and physical challenges, if people were given an opportunity to talk about their feelings and worries most felt better afterward. Having the privilege of being able to listen to people’s thoughts, feelings, worries, challenges, and beliefs over the years felt extremely rewarding and led her to seek a career in counselling.
Kari provides counselling services to adults. She has a special interest in anxiety, depression, grief/loss, addiction, ADHD, as well as helping those who are struggling with chronic or terminal illness.
